Cody Lyle Boardman

Loves Park - Cody Lyle Boardman, 23, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013. Born in Rockford on May 16, 1990 to Eric Lathrop and Kimberly Boardman. He graduated from Harlem High School Class of 2009. He enjoyed many sports and playing football through his younger years.

Cody was the kindest and gentlest soul to any and every person he ever would meet. He enjoyed and excelled at skateboarding and he also loved to play his Dean guitar; he was very passionate about music. He was very proud of his profession as a welder. Cody will be missed beyond words could ever explain.


He is survived by his parents, Eric Lathrop and Kim (Chad) Kern; grandparents, Mike and Dory Lathrop, Harvey and Helen Kern, Cathy Lightheart, David and Penny Ulven and Charles and Jayne Stewart; great-grandparents, Lester and Delia Lathrop, Gloria Stites and Carl and Cruz Ringle; brothers, Jared Kern and Dylan Larkin; sisters, Alyssa Lathrop and Emily Kern; aunts (with a special relationship to aunt Stephanie and aunt Jennifer); uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; childhood sister, Amber-Sky Larkin; and Eric's significant other, Darla, and her children, Jamie, EJ, Stephanie, Sara and Kara. Predeceased by great-grandfather, Earl Lyle Stites.

Funeral service will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 31, 2013 with a visitation from 10:00 until time of service in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Rockford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford.
