Velma J. Cox

Velma J. Cox, 86, of Byron passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016. Born April 4, 1930 to Merritt and Ruth (Alden) Harmon. Velma enjoyed gardening, reading and playing Scrabble and Yahtzee with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include children, Melody (Gerald) Marynowski, Mike (Geralyn) Cox, Merritta (Brent) Stovall; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and sister, Mable Deener. Predeceased by children, Charlotte Morrow, and Viola Olson.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, with a visitation from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial in Stillman Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Hospice Care of America, 3815 N. Mulford Road, Ste. 4, Rockford 61114.
