The sadness I feel for my sweet cousins, Shirley's husband, and her siblings is heavy and dark; but at the same time I'm also filled with a sense of happiness and excitement that I am praying they all can be filled with too. This is because I know she is now completely relieved of suffering; she is filled with complete peace, she is restored fully in spirit, and she is experiencing pure joy, that we can't even begin to wrap our minds around. How awesome for her!
Aunt Shirley was a strong, devoted, hard working, loving woman who's serene personality had a calming effect on me whenever I saw her. Her laugh made me laugh. I remember many times as a child, going shopping on Saturday mornings (of course only to the Salvation Army store :) ) with her and Tammie, and my mom and our grandma, then going to lunch. I remember going to her house for Thanksgiving and Christmas and her working hard in the kitchen but then always ending up at the table with her mom and sisters, laughing. That is how I'll continue to remember her...laughing and peaceful.
Rest in Peace Aunt Shirley! Love, Jennifer
P.S. I'm going to try to follow your example of always remembering to let my nieces and nephews know they are thought about and loved with a card that arrives the day before their birthday. I have a long way to go to get that good!

"God is our refuge and strength; a help that is readily found in times of distress." (Psalms 46:1) My condolences to the family on the loss of your loved one. And may the above words give you some peace knowing that the Almighty God is with you to comfort and sustain you through this difficult time.
