I remember Ron and his brother from his mother's "store" where I got the greatest hamburgers that ever I ate along with Mrs. Fisher's penny chips. Ron was in my brother Bob's class, so when he took me to Mrs. "Pepe's" as I called her in those days, he and Bob would talk. The whole atmosphere was warm, friendly because of the whole Petrie family. They are part of my good memories.

Uncle Ron
A limb has fallen
from the family tree ..
I hear a voice that whispers
‘Grieve not for me
Remember the best times
the laughter, the songs ..
The good I lived
while I was strong.
Continue my heritage
I’m counting on you ..
Keep on smiling
the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease
my soul is at rest ..
Remembering all, how
I was truly blessed.
Continue traditions
no matter how small ..
Go on with your lives
don’t stare at the wall.
I miss you all dearly
so keep up your chin ..
Until that fine day we meet again

I didn't get to spend time with my uncle. That is very sad but true. Life took me in a very different direction. I live 850 miles away and rarely make it to Rockford. I pray for peace and comfort for the family. It's the hardest thing in the world to lose a father, mother, sibling or husband. Much love to Aunt Betty, Howard, Roanna and Pat!!! Love Sue Petrie Smith

Grandpa, you were the best to me, always. You taught me about golf, singing with ole blue eyes in the morning, keeping your mind sharp and current with the times, commitment, courage, and most of all, unconditional, timeless love. You've even shown that to my own child, and you've never been obligated to. I have and will carry that with me all my days, and share it with others as liberally as you have shown me. With endless love and appreciation for you and your time, Cori
