Kimberly L. Barone

Kimberly L. Barone, 47, passed away after a long illness on Saturday July 22, 2017 surrounded by family.  Born February 22, 1970 in Belvidere, the daughter of Vern and Pat (Parrott) Veith; married Frank Barone on September 16, 1995 in Rockford. Kimberly was a graduate of Harlem High class of '89.  With all the physical struggles Kim endured, her greatest joy came from watching her kids play baseball and softball. She was a "softball mom" to many of the area's most talented players and she loved them all, none more than her own daughter, Bianca Barone. Kim's perfect day would be a double header of softball under sunny skies and her dog Capone next to her in a wagon. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Barone; son, Frank A. Barone; daughter, Bianca Barone; parents, Vern and Pat Veith; sisters, Val (Brad) Mentzer, Sheila (Jeff) Veith, Nicole (Dan) Anderson; in-laws, Frank and Marie Barone; sisters-in-law, Michelle (Greg) Hepp, Gina (Mike) Ort; brother-in-law, Jamie (Tiffany) Barone; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her grandparents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017 in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Avenue, Loves Park.  Visitation will be Thursday evening, July 27, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 7:45 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the family for final and medical expenses.
