Anthony Joseph Butera

Anthony Joseph Butera, 86, of Rockford passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016. Born December 27, 1929 in Rockford to Michael and Angela (Sciortino) Butera. Retired as a Civil Engineer from the City of Rockford. Anthony was very proud of all his accomplishments for the city of Rockford. He enjoyed playing cards, magic tricks, and cooking.

Survivors include son, David Butera; step-son, Bruce Butera; brother, Joseph Butera; aunts, Anita Ballinger, Jean Johnson; special cousin, Lisa Yeruski; and several cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016 in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson Street, Rockford, with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of mass Thursday in the church.
