Robert "Bob" I. Steiner

Robert (Bob) Steiner, 64, of Machesney Park, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015. The youngest child of Herman and Jeanette (Johnson) Steiner, he was born on June 6, 1951 in St. Paul, Minnesota. After graduation from Bob Jones University, he moved to Loves Park, Illinois, and married Karen (Smith). He loved to read and be with family. He considered the members and visitors of North Love Baptist Church as his personal family also, greeting each one by name and even remembering their birthday!

He is survived by his wife, Karen; sisters, Dolores Adams and family; Eloise (Chet) Anderson and family; brother, Alan (Doretta) Steiner and family; sisters-in-law, Judy Steiner and family; Kathy (Mike) Whittaker and family; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Virgil and Marge Smith, and many nieces and nephews in both Illinois and Minnesota.  Robert is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald and John; and brother-in-law, Andy Adams.

Memorial service for Illinois family and friends will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 26, 2015, at North Love Baptist Church, 5301 East Riverside Blvd, Rockford Illinois 61114. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service on Friday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family will be distributed to North Love Baptist Church, the Epilepsy Foundation and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Iowa.

Memorial service for Minnesota family and friends to be scheduled in Fall 2015.
