Yoshiko "Emiko" Peterson

Yoshiko “Emiko” Peterson, 82, of Rockford passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017. Born September 19, 1934 in Okinawa, Japan. Married Dannie Peterson on June 27, 1968 in Okinawa, Japan. Retired as a housekeeper for the Ramada Inn. Emiko enjoyed family gatherings and cooking and playing cards, bowling, fishing, excursions to the casino, and spending time with friends and family. She was a loving person and made numerous trips to Okinawa to reunite with her family. 

Survivors include sons, Robert L. (Joanna) Peterson, Steve Peterson; father-in-law, Carl Peterson; sister, Kimio Yamauchi;  brothers-in-law, Barry Peterson, Fred (Vickie) Peterson, and Steve Peterson. Predeceased by husband, Dannie Peterson; mother-in-law, Harriet Peterson; parents, Soki and Na-be Machida; siblings, So-gyu, Haruko, Soko, and Sotoku;  and her little buddy, Reuben. 

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with a visitation from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
