Thomas A. Smith

 
Thomas (Tom) A. Smith, 60, formerly of Onalaska, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at his home in Roscoe, IL.  He was born September 19, 1955 to Ivan and Mary Anne (Gust) Smith.  He was a graduate of Onalaska High School. Tom worked at Everbrite La Crosse for many years before transferring to the Elkhorn division.  He was proud to have worked on some of the La Crosse area's prominent signs.  Tom was an avid outdoorsman, reader, and Nascar fan.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends in his favorite place, Hatfield, WI.  Even though he was known as the quiet one of the family, he was an excellent storyteller just the same.
 
Tom is survived by his fiance, Sue deNeveu of Roscoe, IL; two daughters, Pam Smith (Chester) of Rockville, MD and Lisa (Christian) Blasdell of Belmont, NH; three brothers, Tim (Julie) Smith of Holmen, Mark (Jean) Smith of La Crosse and Matt (Denise) Smith of Madison; a sister, Lori (Mike) Peterson of Onalaska; a grandson, Bennett Blasdell; three nephews, Erick Smith, Philip Smith, and Jesse Smith; niece, Bobbie (Chris) Grubb; great-nephew, Devon and great-niece, Zeva.  Tom was predeceased by his parents.
 
A celebration of Tom's life will be held at Neshonoc-Swarthout Park shelter in West Salem, WI on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM. There will be a short service by Pastor Scott Skogen at 1:00 PM with a luncheon following.
