Norma H. Calkins

Norma H. Calkins, 91, of Rockford passed away Monday, July 25, 2016. Born April 10, 1925 in New Auburn, WI to Asa and Irene Christine (Demenski) McCarty. Married Norman Calkins on March 5, 1943 in Abilene, TX. Employed for 15 years at Peterson Kruse. Norma was a talented seamstress and a wonderful homemaker.

Survivors include daughters, Sharon (Jim) Dennis of Papillion, NE, Maxine “Mickey” Smith of Rockford; granddaughters, April Briggs, Kelly Smith, Jennifer Wilkison; great grandchildren, Taylor Opsahl, Jacob Briggs, Jesse Briggs, Joe Wilkison; sister, Mary Sharon Niezgodzki; brother, John McCarty; and special brother-in-law, Glen Mercer. Predeceased by husband, Norman; daughter, Patricia Calkins; brothers, Edward, Jerome; and sisters, Katherine, Patricia, and Lucille.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2016 in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family.
