John Garey McMahon, Jr.

John Garey McMahon, Jr., 68, of Machesney Park passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017. Born April 1, 1948 in Rockford to John and Helen (Nolan) McMahon, Sr. Married Cathy Brown May 18, 1979 in Rockford. Owner and operator of McMahon Construction and Remodeling for 30 years. Longtime member of the Rockford Alano Club. John enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include wife, Cathy McMahon; children, John G. (Cresta) McMahon III, Tracey (Kenneth) Warner, Jennifer McMahon; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, James (Rebecca) McMahon, Daniel (Kaye) McMahon, George (Candace) McMahon, Joseph (Diane) McMahon; sisters, Rose (Randy) Ekstrom, Elizabeth (Rich) Meinert, Kathleen (Edward) Adkins; and four-legged companion, Jax. Predeceased by parents; and brother, Michael McMahon.

Memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park. A luncheon will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017 in the Rockford Alano Club, 1210 11th Street, Rockford. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Rockford Alano Club.
