Gerald P. AndersonMay 6, 1932 ~ January 23, 2017 (age 84)
Gerald P. Anderson, 84, went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2017 with his loving family present. He was the son of Paul and Gladys Anderson and his loving stepmother, Anna Shields Anderson. He was a graduate of Harlem Class of 1951. He met and married a classmate, Betty Allbee Anderson. They shared 65 years together and were blessed with three sons. Gerry joined his brother, Gene, and father in operating Anderson Gulf and Service in Machesney Park. Soon Gerry realized he needed to relocate his boating business to Roscoe, Illinois where he purchased many acres of land to build his Anderson Marine and Gerry's Auto Parts in 1972. He loved working with his three sons in these different businesses. He loved boating, water skiing, snowmobiling, biking and traveling in his motor home. After retiring, he and Betty traveled to many different states with friends enjoying Nascar races around the different states.
Gerry is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Jeff Anderson, Jay (Denise) Anderson and Joel (Mary) Anderson; four grandchildren, Janelle and Ed Lopez, Matt and Morgan Anderson, Todd and Charli Anderson, Jason and Megan Anderson Reuard; five great-grandchildren; brother, Gene (Maggie) Anderson; four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, many nieces and nephews and special friends.
Special thanks to Heartland Hospice, Tyson and Maryann, and our dear Denise Anderson and Megan Anderson Reuard for their loving nursing care.
A Celebration of life, as he requested, will be held at a later date.
