Eric J. Rippentrop

Eric J. Rippentrop, 34, of Dekalb passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016. Born April 1, 1982 in Rockford to Gale and Becky (MacQueen) Rippentrop. A graduate of Jefferson High School class of 2000. Eric was a Chicago Bears fan, enjoyed fishing, skiing, gardening, spending time outdoors, and mushroom hunting with his Dad. He was also an avid supporter of all US veterans.

Survivors include parents, Gale and Becky Rippentrop of Cherry Valley; brother, Nicholas Rippentrop of Rockford; paternal grandmother, Reba Rippentrop; special cousin, Heather MacQueen; several aunts, uncles, cousins; and special friends, Herb and Julie Kaelin. Predeceased by paternal grandfather, Floyd Rippentrop; maternal grandparents, Roderick and Sophie MacQueen; and uncle, Roddy MacQueen.

Celebration of life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2016 in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with Pastor Dan Herman of Old Stone Church, Rockton, officiating. Private family burial in Monroe Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Eric’s name to the Gary Sinise Foundation Rise Program, P.O. Box 50008, Studio City, CA 91614-5001, to help build homes for veterans.
