Barbara (Bertrand) Dannenberg

Barbara (Bertrand) Dannenberg, 87, of Rockford, passed away from Alzheimers on Thursday, February 23, 2017 with her family present. She was born on May 10, 1929 in Rockford to Edward and Ann (Weir) Bertrand. Barbara graduated from West High School. She married Dean "Diz" S. Dannenberg on February 14, 1948. Barbara will be remembered for many things such as her love of baking, her competitive games like Michigan and Scrabble, the challenging jigsaw puzzles she loved to work on, her playing beautiful music on her piano and working in her garden. Barbara will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and friends. Barbara was always known for putting others before herself. Her smile, her touch and her warm hugs radiated all the love in her heart. Barbara created a home that was always welcoming. Mom will always be the heart and soul of our family. 

Towards the end...

Mom may have not remembered everything,

but she never forgot to love us.

She will be forever in our hearts!

Survivors include her sister, Betty Olson; her devoted companion, Deva; children, Dean (Diana) Dannenberg, Jr., Nancy Dannenberg, Susie Dannenberg-Bowers, David (Colleen) Dannenberg, Mike (Becky) Dannenberg; grandchildren, Doug (Traci), Brad (Tracey), Josh (Lindsay), Nicole (Pete); nine great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, with visitation from 6:00 p.m. until time of service.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 1111 S. Alpine Rd., #307, Rockford, Illinois 61108 would be appreciated.
