William L. Childress

William "Bill" Lee Childress, 90, of Machesney Park, passed away June 20, 2024. He was born in Kincaid, IL on August 25, 1933 to John and Valentina (Madden) Childress.  He married Minnie Virtue (Martin) Childress on September 3, 1960 in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.  He served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, from 1954-1977.  They moved to Rockford in February, 1977.  He worked at Rockford Castings, nine years at National Machine, and 13-1/2 years at Hydroline.  

He is survived by his wife, Minnie Childress.

Service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 27, 2024 in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park with a visitation from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery, Rockford.
