Vivian M. Anderson, 96, of Rockford, died Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Home. Born June 18, 1928, in Rockford, daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Erlandson) Carter. Married George H. Anderson on October 8, 1948, in Rockford. Together they built a life centered around family, faith, and friendship. She shared 51 beautiful years of marriage to her best friend. Their love and devotion to each other remained an inspiration to all who knew them.
Vivian loved Jesus with all her heart and was a devout prayer warrior. Her deepest desire was for others to know the Lord as she did. She lived a life full of love, kindness and generosity, bringing a smile and laughter to all she encountered.
Predeceased by husband, George and daughter, Linda. Survivors include children, Thomas (Cyndi) Anderson and Lori Anderson; son-in-law, Burke Romkowske; former daughter-in-law, JoAnn (Scott) Markuson; grandchildren, Laura (Tim) Clark, Elin (Erik) Jacobson, Tom (Andrea) Romkowske, Sonja Anderson, Brian (Angie) Romkowske and Michael Williams; great-grandchildren, Katie, Aaron (Megan), Austin, Hailee (Sean), Abby, Elyse, Trevor, Charlie, Joey, Ethan, and Emma.
The family will gather for a private service to honor and celebrate her life. They would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Home and Northern Illinois Hospice for their dedicated care and support.
