Virginia "Ginny" Richards

Virginia “Ginny” R. Richards, 82, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

Ginny was born on June 7, 1943, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Herman Price and Ella Mae (Bowen) Martin. She was raised and educated in Rockford, IL, and proudly graduated from West High School in 1961.

On February 4, 1978, she married the love of her life, Ronald W. Richards, in Machesney Park.

Ginny had a joyful spirit and a warm presence that lit up every room she entered. She loved arts and crafts, fishing, and spending time at the casino, especially enjoying slot machines. She also cherished her collections of Seraphim angels and teacups. Easy-going and kind, Ginny touched the lives of all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Richards; her sons, William Richards, Troy Fraker, Tracy Fraker, Chris (Debbie) Fraker, and Shawn (Dana) Fraker; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, David (Linda) Martin, and sister, Barbara (Bill) Hopper.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents and her sons, Scott Fraker and John Fraker.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. before the service.
