Virginia "Ginny" Barker-Jones

It is with great sadness that the family of Virginia "Ginny" Barker-Jones announces her passing on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at the age of 78.  Virginia will be lovingly remembered and missed, especially by her family.  

Survivors include Alan (Nicole) Barker, Elaine (Sean) Bruckner, Karen (John) Hyde and daughter-in-law Ramona Barker; grandchildren, Makayla, Nicole, Olivia, Doug, Danielle, Luke, Ty, Madeline and Michael; great-granddaughter, Ava Reynolds.  Ginny was blessed with 12 step-children and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved.  Predeceased by parents, Ashford and Florence L (Roland) Stover; step-mother, Mary Stover; brother, James Stover; sister, Jean Weller; son, Kenneth Brooks Barker, Jr.; loving husband, Marshall A. Jones; step-sons, Daniel Jones and Mathew Jones.   

Ginny was a proud owner of a beauty salon at North Town Mall and worked as a beautician at a local nursing home for many years.  Most of her career was at the Winnebago County Heath Department where she made countess friends and where she retired.  Ginny enjoyed quilting, sewing, shopping, traveling, and gardening. She loved spending time with her beloved family and her dog, JonZ.  

We will remember our sweet mother enjoying the sunshine and warm weather with a cool beverage; we know she is at peace and her memories will be with us forever. Please hold Ginny in your hearts.

Memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2020 in the Cathedral of St. Peter, 1243 N. Church Street, Rockford.  Private burial in Middle Creek Cemetery, Winnebago.
