Virginia M. Garcia

Virginia M. Garcia, 80, of Machesney Park, passed away Monday, June 28, 2021. She was born on February 19, 1941 in Pleasanton, Texas to Miguel and Manuela (Macumba) Garcia. Virginia was an avid San Antonio Spurs fan. She had a passion for crafts, crocheting and quilting. She enjoyed cooking and left many recipes that will be passed down to her family. Virginia also enjoyed Tejano music and was proud to be from Texas. She loved her dogs and most importantly, loved spending time with her grandchildren. 

Survivors include her children, Olga Yglecias, Maria (James) Placeres, Andrew (Aida) Yglecias, Mary (Cesar) Medrano, Mark Huizar and Jerome (Gabrielle) Yglecias; grandchildren, Rosemary, Christian, Rene, Joseph, Sarah, Sandra, Virginia, Michael, Thomas, Jesenia, Matthew, Janette, Leticia, Andres, Augustine, Alejandro, Adrian, Anayeli, Bruno, Cesar Jr., Katarina, Tatiana, Christian, Eliana, Dahlia, and Camila; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Juanita Huizar, Ted Garcia and Roger Garcia; daughter-in-law, Loreta Yglecias; special friends, Alicia Rios and Elena Basilio. Predeceased by her parents; son, Avelardo "Lalo" Yglecias; grandson, Angel and many brothers and sisters who she joined in heaven. 

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111 with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
