Vicki L. Torrez

Vicki L. Torrez was born on August 31st, 1966 in Rockford, IL. She passed away surrounded by her loving family on May 20th, 2025. 

Vicki had a love for knowledge. A lifelong learner, she immersed herself in topics ranging from health and law to the latest in technology. Whenever friends or family had a question—or a phone or computer that needed fixing—Vicki was their go-to guide.

During the warmer months, you could find her tending to her garden, or going on walks with her family. She had a deep love for music and never missed a chance to "jam out" with friends or enjoy a game of bowling. Her quick wit, hilarious impressions, and unforgettable stories brought laughter to every room she entered.

Vicki will be remembered not only for her intelligence and humor, but for the warmth and light she brought into the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul; her uncles, Denvis and Roy; and her nephew, Jordan King.

Vicki is survived by her mother, Sharon Shell; her stepfather, Dave; her loving husband, Eloy Torrez; her daughter, Alyssa Torrez; her aunt, Lori (Farrell) Ratcliff; her half-sister, Jeannie Shell-Smith; her brothers, Paul (Trish) Shell, John Shell, and Mike Shell; her nieces, Jessica Shell, Julie Shell, and Ally Gabbard. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

Memorial service will be at 4:30pm with a visitation from 3:00pm until the service on Friday, June 6, 2025 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111.
