Vicki L. Donnell

Vicki L. Donnell, 61, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully with family by her side on October 31, 2024. Born on October 18, 1963 in Peoria, IL, Vicki was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Vicki is survived by her husband of 33 years, Keith Donnell; her children, Jayson (Liz) Donnell and Kayla Donnell; her grandson, Asher Donnell; as well as her father, Donald Welch; her brother, Kevin Welch; and her cat, Luna. She was predeceased by her mother, Betty Welch.

A graduate of Chillicothe High School, Vicki dedicated 20 years to nurturing and aiding children at Rockford Lutheran Academy before retiring in September 2024. She loved spending time with her family, listening to music, and dancing. She was known for her caring and generous spirit, always putting others before herself, and never hesitating to show up for those she loved. Her strength, particularly through her 3 year fight with pancreatic cancer, was an inspiration and a testament to her unwavering resilience.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the compassionate care provided by the doctors and nurses at the Carbone Cancer Center and Northern Illinois Hospice.

Service will be at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park with a visitation from 3:00 PM until the time of the service.
