Tyler Lau Obituary

Tyler Ayden Lau, 10 years old, of Rockford, IL, passed on February 15, 2020 at the American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI.  Tyler was born on March 19, 2009 at Rockford Memorial Hospital, the son of Derrick and Amber (Goble) Lau.  He attended Christian Life Schools. Tyler loved others, he was a good friend and brother.  He was an explorer who was always up to try something new, unless it was strange food!  Tyler had a natural sense of humor; others could count on him to have a fun answer to almost any question. His love of video games was matched by his love of roller coasters and all things water. This summer he was finally tall enough to ride the Superman roller coaster at Great America and he loved it. If there was a pool or water slide nearby, you could bet that was where Tyler would be found. Tyler was inquisitive and as much as he enjoyed researching things on YouTube, he loved sharing what he had learned even more. Tyler was kind, thoughtful, sweet and sensitive and it is with heavy hearts that he is laid to rest by friends and family, until all are reunited in Heaven.

Tyler was a great big brother to sisters Willa, Natalee and Noelle.  They were always playing games together; they spent all last summer living and sleeping together in a fort in the living room.  Along with the girls, Tyler is survived by his parents, Derrick and Amber, both of Rockford; his paternal grandparents, Paul and Judy Lau; his maternal grandmother, Barb Rosendahl; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.  Predeceased by maternal grandfather, Bill Goble and “Grampy” Gary Rosendahl.
