Traci Renee Stamm of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness on September 7, 2024. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a skilled social worker and counselor, especially with children. Traci earned a BA in Sociology in 1988 from Colorado State University, and an MS in Counseling from National Louis University in 2002. She worked as a probation officer in Winnebago County, IL, and upon her retirement started a private counseling practice in 2004. Traci also volunteered her services to Northern Illinois Hospice and the Red Cross homeless shelter. She was a lifelong animal lover and advocate for animal adoption. She was heartbroken when she lost her beloved rescue cat, Sophie, earlier this year. Traci was a gifted competitive athlete at Hononegah High School, excelling at tennis, basketball, softball, and track. She remained active throughout her adult life, enjoying hiking, canoeing, and biking. She loved to travel and experienced adventures all over the US, as well as Canada and Europe.
Traci is survived by her mother, Sandra (Baker) Stamm; brother, Mike Stamm; sister-in-law, Debbie (Flickinger) Stamm; niece, Amanda Stamm, and nephew, Matthew Stamm. She was predeceased by her father, James Stamm.
Memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2024 in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory-Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main St., Roscoe with a memorial visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in her honor to Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary of Rockford or Paws Animal Shelter of Rockford.
