Timmy Walker Obituary

Timmy (Tim) Marvin Walker, 72, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, surrounded by family and friends following a lengthy illness.

He was born on May 18, 1953, in Belvidere, Illinois, to Ira and Wanda (Rednour/Newell) Walker. He attended Perry Elementary School and graduated from Belvidere High School in 1971. Tim was a longtime resident of Belvidere before moving to the home he dearly treasured in Roscoe, Illinois.

Tim worked for Parsons Company, Apache Foam, Belvedere Company, and Standard Foods before spending many years with the Belvidere School District. He served as head custodian at Meehan School until his retirement in 1996.

Tim will be remembered as a calm and gentle soul. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing games, telling dad jokes, and being a master at the grill.

For those who knew him, you would agree that music was at the center of it all. Growing up playing guitar alongside his dad and brothers led to a musical talent that was passed down through generations. Tim spent several years playing in bands, including Roustabouts, Julien Harrison, Cross Fire, and Thunder River playing at venues throughout the Rockford area. Later in life, he continued his love of music by collaborating with friends and his brother to produce songs and videos, many of which can still be found on his YouTube channel today.

Tim is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, RaeAnn (Reininger) Walker; his children, Jason Walker of Roscoe, Illinois, and Jennifer (Mark) Sisson of Belvidere, Illinois; and his daughter-in-law, Nicole Walker of Roscoe, Illinois. He was a proud grandpa to Jocie (Adam) Veruchi, Jacob Horner, Benjamin Walker, and Olivia (Ollie) Walker. He is also survived by his mother, Wanda Newell of Roscoe, Illinois; his brother, Terry Walker of Roscoe, Illinois; his brother-in-law, Dennis (Diane) Reininger of Willow City, Texas; and his sister-in-law, Bonita (Bonnie) Reininger of Waxahatchee, Texas, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special musical friends Randy Cox, Jim Taylor, and Gary Leek.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Walker; his father-in-law, Lester Reininger; his mother-in-law, Virginia (Taylor) Reininger; his brother, Tony Walker; and his brothers-in-law, Michael Reininger and Steven Reininger.

The family gratefully acknowledges the staff at DaVita Dialysis Center, OSF Home Healthcare, and Northern Illinois Hospice. A special thank you to his nurses, Kara and Brianna, for the compassionate care they provided throughout his journey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion, 221 W. Main Street, Rockton, Illinois, on May 16, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. A light lunch will be served.

In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to the Rock and Roll Institute of Rockford, Illinois, a non-profit organization that uses Rock and Roll music as a vehicle to educate and inspire musical youth to forge their own musical path - something he took great pride in, especially as he watched his granddaughter Olivia be a part of it.
