Thomas R. Lee

Thomas “Tom” R. Lee, 69, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, in Rockford, IL, after a long illness. Tom was born in Moorhead, MN, on December 31, 1955, the son of Thomas and Gladys (Beeks) Lee. He was raised and educated in Rockford, graduating from East High School in 1973. He graduated from Rockford University in 2013, where he studied Performing Arts.

Tom was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Rockford and also participated in the Citizens Police Academy in 2023. He worked at Midway Village and Walmart for many years.

Tom enjoyed creating art, writing, and performing in plays at Midway Village and the Starlight Theater.

A special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and CNAs at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. The family is grateful to everyone at Midway Village, as well as Peter Smith and Daniel Wykes at St. James Catholic Church.

He is survived by his sister, Nancy Lee, of Rockford; several aunts and uncles; and many cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 24, 2025 in St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. 2nd St. Rockford, IL 61107. Burial will be immediately following the Mass in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
