Theresa Carol Mershon

Theresa Carol Mershon, 54, of Rockford, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021. She was born on November 14, 1966 in Rockford to Gary Newman and Carol Hall. Theresa graduated from West High School in 1985. She was most recently employed at Thermofischer Scientific. Theresa had a passion for antiquing, scrapbooking, and arts and crafts. She enjoyed travel, collecting stamps and watching movies. She was a dog mom and loved to help others. She especially loved spending time with her friends and family including watching her sons sports games and watching him skateboard. 

Survivors include her son, Chace Smith; mother, Carol Hall; sister, Crystal Newman and brother, Jeremy Walls; Predeceased by her father, Gary Newman and sister, Sara Newman. 

A service of remembrance will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111 with Pastor Anthony Maynard officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. A celebration of life gathering will follow at 4:30 p.m. in Fozzy's Bar & Grill, 6246 E. Riverside Blvd., Loves Park, IL 61111.
