Susan C. Bellinger

Susan C. Bellinger (Kash) was born in Chicago to Raymond and Helen (Pokorny) Kash on March 30, 1947, and passed away at home under Hospice care on July 6, 2026, after a ten-year battle with lung cancer.

Sue attended St Roberts Bellarmine, Notre Dame High School, and Chicago Teachers’ College, Chicago North. She taught various subjects at the elementary school level as well as high school art. She earned a degree in Interior Design and was a buyer for two furniture stores. Her career ended as an activity director after ten years at Centegra’s Memorial Hospital in Woodstock, IL.

Sue loved art and enjoyed landscape and portrait painting. She was also a gourmet cook. Sue enjoyed skating, skiing, biking, hiking, and boating. Though she was a reluctant flyer, she flew in a glider, helicopter, single- and twin-engine planes, a DC-3, and commercial airlines.

Sue was the loving wife of William M. Bellinger for 52 years, mother of William K. Bellinger, and grandmother of Otto Bellinger.

She is survived by her husband, son, and grandchild, as well as her siblings, Ruth Foley and David Kash; nieces, Emily Drake, Denise Villegas, Pam Schulz, April Sauer, Amy Cwick, Tina Messdaghi, Susanne Mitchell, Theresa Lynn Horstman, Kathleen Smith, Joya Kash, and Jillian Kash; and nephew, Eric Braun.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Barbara Braun; brother, Tom Kash; and her niece, Beth Bryant.

A memorial visitation for Susan will take place at Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00pm.  A memorial service will immediately follow at 2:00pm.
