Steven J. Peterson

Steven Jeffrey Peterson, 66, was born in Rockford, IL on September 4, 1957 and passed away at home on June 28, 2024.

Steven is survived by his two brothers, Barry Peterson and Fred (Victoria) Peterson; two nephews, Robert (Joanna) Peterson and Steven Peterson; niece, Tori McCook; aunt, Sue Peterson and several cousins. Steven was predeceased by parents, Carl and Harriet Peterson; brother and sister-in-law, Dannie and Emiko Peterson.

He was a retired roofer. Steven was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was also an avid Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox and NASCAR fan. He loved to play cards with his family. Steven spent years taking care of his dad (who passed away in 2023 at 101). He was an excellent cook. He faithfully prepared wonderful Sunday dinners for his dad and brothers.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery, 6202 Charles Street, Rockford, IL 61108, with his brother, Fred, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family to be designated at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded.
