Shirley A. Burke

Shirley Adele Burke, 100, of Rockford, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Saturday, March 22, 2025.  She was born in Chicago, IL on January 5, 1925 to James and Eleanor (Strasser) Diederich.  She was a housewife, mother, grandmother, great-grandma and aunt.

She is survived by her children, Pat (Penny) Burke, Daniel Burke and Margaret Gray; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Predeceased by her husband, John R. Burke.

The family would like to thank OSF Hospice and special thanks to Margaret for taking excellent care of our mom.

The family will hold a private service and then burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
