Sheldon "Mike" Wolfe

Sheldon “Mike” Wolfe, 48, of Rockford, IL passed away peacefully April 29, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Sheldon was born in Rockford on May 21, 1974, to his parents, Harold Wolfe Jr. and Dianna (Hendrick) Henrey. Sheldon spent his whole life in the Rockford area. He attended the Rockford schools and was a member at St. Bridget Catholic Church.  Sheldon went on to marry the love of his life, Christy (Salyer) Wolfe in Rockford on June 26, 1997, and together they shared a lot of love and two fur babies, Maashaus and Amadeus.

Sheldon worked for many years as an auto parts advisor at Napleton in Rockford. Sheldon truly was just a simple man. He did not need extravagant things in life to make him happy. All he needed was his wife and dogs to fill his heart with joy. When he wasn’t spending time with his family, he enjoyed motorcycles and working on cars. Getting his hands dirty in the garage was his true passion in life. He will be dearly missed by many.

Survived by his wife, Christy (Salyer) Wolfe; mother, Dianna (Jim) Henrey; siblings, Bobby (Bob) Shuga Jr., Kim Wolfe, Vince Wolfe, Tige Wolfe; mother-in-law, Waletta Salyer; father-in-law, Randy Menor; sisters-in-law, Sherri (Dan) Salyer and Diana Salyer; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Randy Jones and Raymond Lewis.  Preceded in death by his father, Harold Wolfe, Jr.; brothers, Wesley Allen Wolfe and Kevin Michael Wolfe.

A visitation will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm with the funeral service following at 12:00pm on Saturday, May 13, 2023, in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111.  Burial will take place following the service in Winnebago Cemetery, Winnebago, IL.  The family asks that in honor of the type of simple man Sheldon was, to please come dressed casually.
