Shawn Michael Homb, 34, a true warrior, fought his battle to his last breath at Serenity Hospice Home in Oregon, IL on Friday, August 11, 2023. He had his wife alongside him and many loved ones near. Shawn was born on February 14, 1989, in Monroe, WI. He was a graduate of Warren High School and Northern Illinois University, where he achieved a bachelor’s degree in health and human sciences and a master's degree in public health administration. While studying for his degree he worked as a manager at JMK Nippon in Rockford, IL. He later became an Infection Prevention Specialist at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL.
When Shawn was not working towards his career goals, he and his wife, Tori, could be found making memories together. They shared traveling, attending Cubs games, golfing, playing sand volleyball, attending music festivals and concerts, and building a family with their fur babies, a home, and life together. Always fun-loving and caring, he enjoyed attending football games, baseball games, playing volleyball, and socializing with friends and family. Shawn accepted anything that life threw at him with grace and a smile.
Shawn is survived by his wife, Tori; his parents, Jerry and Mardell Homb; 3 siblings, Craig (Kris) Homb, Trent (Darla) Homb, and Carrie (Brian Krug) Homb; father and mother-in-law, Rod and Mary Hagemann; sisters and brothers-in-law, Brooks (Adam) Scherer and Jackie (Brandon) Lieber; nieces, Alexis (Cory) Goebel, Megan (Bryant) Blabaum, Kaytlin (Joshua) Cox, Becca Homb, Anna Homb, Madison Lieber, Adalynn Abraham, Trista Lawson, and Taylar Daly; nephews, Nick Homb, Karsen Henneman and Owen Henneman; great-nephews, Lincoln, Braxton, Deklyn, Wesley, Kaiden, and Jaxon; and great-niece, August.
