Sharon M. (Peterson) Aaby

Sharon M. Aaby, 79, of Rockford passed away March 25, 2021. Born January 16, 1942 in Rockford, Illinois. Daughter of Ken and Ruth Peterson. Lived most of her life in Rockford, Illinois. Sharon married the love of her life, Marvin Aaby on August 30,1961. After retiring from Rockford Memorial Hospital in 1996, she and Marvin spent the summers in Minocqua, where she became an avid fisher person and enjoyed travelling to the Caribbean Islands in the winter months. Sharon enjoyed playing cards her entire life and Texas Hold’em was one of her favorites, whether in person at Wesley Willows, or on-line.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Marvin Aaby; her three daughters, Kelli (Jeff) Stovall, Konni (Norm) Carlson, Kammi (Dave) Reed; grandchildren, Adam Stovall, Andrew Stovall, Korena Reed, Micah Carlson and Anaka Carlson; brother, Ken (Barb) Peterson; brother-in-law, Milt (Diane) Aaby.

A celebration of life is planned for Thursday, April 1, 2021 at the Loves Park Backyard Bar & Grill, from 1:30pm – 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Milestone Inc. Social Services.
