Shane R. Brogan Jr.

Shane Brogan Jr., 29, of Rockford, Illinois, tragically passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026. He was born on September 1, 1996, in Dixon, Illinois, to Shane Brogan Sr. and Melissa Stone.

Shane was employed at Kemps in Rockford. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Chicago Bears, and spending time on his motorcycle, where he found a sense of freedom and adventure. He also loved spending time with his friends, sharing laughter and making memories wherever he went.

Above all else, Shane's greatest joy was his children and his family. They were the center of his life, and the time he spent with them meant more to him than anything.

Shane had a great sense of humor and a fun-loving personality that naturally drew people to him. He had a way of making others laugh, and his presence brought happiness to those around him. His sudden passing has left an immeasurable void that words cannot fully express. Taken far too soon, Shane's loss is deeply felt by his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing. Though his life was short, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew him best.

He is survived by his grandparents, Timothy and Ellen Riegle; his mother, Melissa (Julie) Mahalik-Stone; his father, Shane (Stephenie) Brogan Sr.; his children, Noah, Remmie, Princeton, Ka'son and Alyivia Brogan; his sisters, Shayann Stone and Nikki Riegle; his brothers, Dylan Brogan and Jacob Macquarrie; his nephews, Liam Riegle, Roman Tate, Rashaun Mctizic, and Javonte Bell; and his nieces, Maliyah Mctizic and Jianna Bell as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Greg Stone, and his aunt, Wendy Stone.

A visitation for Shane will take place on Friday, July 31st at Honquest Family Funeral Home in Loves Park from 4 - 6 pm. A funeral service will begin after the visitation.
