Santos M. Galvan

Santos Galvan, 89, of Rockford, passed away on November 19, 2025, due to health complications following a recent fall. She was born on March 8, 1936, in La Cueva, Apaseo El Alto, Guanajuato, Mexico, the daughter of Tomas Mendoza and Emidia Jimenz.

Santos found joy in tending to her garden and admiring her flowers. She cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed taking long car rides on pleasant days, appreciating the peaceful scenery around her.

Santos will be dearly missed by her children, Luis (Grace) Galvan, Alicia Galvan, Teresa (Artemio) Mondujano, Martha (Rafael) Jaime, Guadalupe (Lupe) Pacheco, Margarita (Mario) Mendoza, Ernesto (Kim) Galvan, Antonio (Izamari) Galvan, and Elizabeth Galvan; her sisters, Reyes Mendoza and Ana Mandujano; her brothers, Juan, Valente, Samuel, Antonio, and Arnulfo Mendoza; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaias Galvan; her parents; her son, Carlos Galvan; her daughter, Margarita Galvan; and her grandchildren, Henry Pacheco, Juan Mandujano, and Zulema Mandujano.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 3004 11th St., Rockford, IL. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Additional visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
