Sandra M. Schmoyer

Sandra “Sandy” M. Schmoyer of Winnebago, IL died peacefully and entered the Lord’s presence on Friday, June 13, 2025, with her husband by her side. Sandy was married to Ken Schmoyer on May 11, 1974, in Fort Wayne, IN. They met in a young adult bible study at South Baptist Church.

Sandy graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1970 and went on to graduate from St. Joseph School of Nursing with her RN diploma. She then began her nursing career in Labor and Delivery, and continued to care for people for the next 43 years in various roles and places. She was an Honorary Member of the Forest City Nurse Honor Guard. Sandy enjoyed reading, cooking for her family, and singing. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Ken Schmoyer; children, David (Katie) Schmoyer and Nathan (Julia) Schmoyer; grandchild, Isaiah (son of David and Katie); sister, Melanie (Bret) Marquis; nieces, nephews, and friends, Heather Jenkins, Ryan Marquis, Amy Albertson, Wendy Albertson; and her pet Dachshund, Andy. Predeceased by her parents and grandparents.

The family would like to give special thanks to all the nurses, doctors, cna’s, technicians, and food services for their kind and compassionate skillful support.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Honquest Family Funeral Home–Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL, 61111, at 11:00 AM, with a visitation starting at 10:00 AM until the time of service. Donations may be made in her honor to City First Church Legacy Fund.
