Ruth K. Werling

Ruth K. Werling, 91, of Rockford passed away July 24, 2024 at home with her daughters Betsy and Pam by her side. Born February 18, 1933, in Ft. Wayne, IN, daughter of Arthur and Lena (Kaatze) Korte. Ruth spent her life in Lac Du Flambeau, WI, Oak Park, IL and Ft. Wayne, IN. She graduated from Southside High School in Ft. Wayne, IN. She married Wilbur H. Werling on May 22, 1954 in Fort Wayne, IN. Ruth was the church secretary at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ft. Wayne, IN, school secretary at Lincoln School in River Forest, IL and Marshall Field's Department Store in Oak Park, IL. 

She is survived by her children, Sue, Pam, Betsy and Sara; grandchildren, Katie, Jessie, John, Jenny, Tug, Charlie, Megan, Alex, Bryan, Ciara, Samantha, and Amanda; 11 great-grandchildren and her twin brothers, Ron and Don Korte. Predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Lena Korte; and her husband, Wilbur.
