Ruth E. Evans-Anderson, 84, of Rockford passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 2, 2018. Born August 6, 1933 in Rockford to Delay and Laura (Harberts) Sterner. Married Eugene Evans October 18, 1947; he predeceased her in 1998. Ruth later remarried Don Anderson; he predeceased her in 2004.
Survivors include children, Danny (Debbie) Evans of Elko, NV, Michele (Tonia) Evans of Sevierville, TN; former daughter-in-law, Jeri Evans; grandchildren, Lesa (Mike) Stevens, Jimmy Henry, Sondra Evans, Tamara Evans, Blake (Melody) Evans; great grandchildren, Kaylah Evans, Jay Stevens, Jaci Gordon; brother, Jim Sterner; sister, Doris Sterner; special nieces, Mary (Rich) Mandzen, Nancy Sterner; and several other loving family members. Predeceased by parents; husbands; children, Jeannie Arnold, Mitchell Evans; several sisters; and one brother. A special thank you to the staff of Alden Debes, Mercy Health Hospice and her special hospice nurse, Kelly.
