Ruth E. Earlywine

Ruth E. Earlywine, 96, was born on July 24,1928 in Byron, IL to Sigfrid and Elsie Peterson. Ruth passed away in her home on Friday, November 1, 2024. She married Elvis W. Earlywine on April 18, 1944 in Belvidere, IL. She and Elvis were blessed with eight children, Linda Campos, Viola Harris, Kathleen (Kenneth) Hodowanic, Susan Arner and Sherrie Almond. She was predeceased by her husband, Elvis, and their children, Wayne (Linda) Earlywine, John (Cathleen) Earlywine, Sandra (Jim) Anderson; and sons-in-law, Ray Harris, Bob Arner, and Rob Almond. She was also proud of and blessed and survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She loved telling people there were “almost” 100 among them!

The times she enjoyed the most was every year when the family gathered for her birthday celebration at various homes and parks in the area. She loved having everyone together. She also loved the holidays, especially Christmas, going for Sunday afternoon car rides, embroidery, working on diamond art and attending the many celebrations of her family. She will be missed most by her family. Ruth worked many years in local factories including Atwood’s and Warner Lambert. After retiring, she earned her CNA license and began the next chapter caring for the elderly.

The family would like to extend an extra special THANK YOU to her granddaughter, Jill, for the time spent caring for her so she was able to remain in her home.

Funeral service will be at 11:00am with a visitation from 10:00am until the service on Thursday, November 7, 2024 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111.  Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Rockford.
