Ronald Zawislak Obituary

Ronald “Ron” Zawislak, son of late parents Anthony A. Zawislak and Victoria B. Olszewski, was born April 7, 1959 in Rockford, Illinois and passed away after a short illness on January 17, 2022. He attended St. Stanislaus Catholic Grade School and was a graduate of West High School in 1977.  Previously, he was employed at Elco-Textron Inc. as a roll thread operator and later in his career was a tool and die maker.  Ron was currently employed by the J.B. Hunt Corporation as a transportation specialist and enjoyed being on the road and meeting people.

He loved spending time with his brother, sisters, nieces and nephews on the holidays and whenever special family events allowed.  At an early age Ron displayed an interest in all types of cars and trucks, especially ones where he could pull off the wheels and axles and try to reassemble them with limited success. He loved NHRA meets and the excitement that comes with the roar of high horsepower motors launching a vehicle down a quarter mile racetrack. His love for trucks showed in the way he cared for the truck he drove every day and how important it was to stay safe on the roads.

His easy-going humor and love of life will be remembered forever by his devoted family: sister, Alexandria Pro (James) of Spring, TX; sister, Barbara Anderson (Jeffrey) of Spring, TX; sister, Loretta Dobson (Steven) of Loves Park, IL; brother, Gregory Zawislak (Laurie) of Roscoe, IL; late brother, George Zawislak (Barbara) of Chattanooga, TN; late brother, Mark Zawislak of Rockford, IL; niece, Michelle Corley (Kevin) of Missouri City, TX; niece, Andrea Pro of Spring, TX; nephew, Tod Pro of Spring, TX; nephew, Eric Anderson (Amanda) of Spring, TX; nephew, Troy Anderson (Misty) of Houston, TX; niece, Stephanie Tuttle (Ben) of Loves Park, IL; niece, Sarah Nelson (Bryce) of Roscoe, IL; niece, Danielle Dobson of Loves Park, IL; nephew, Josh Zawislak of Rockford, IL; nephew, Nick Zawislak of Chattanooga, TN; nephew, Chris Zawislak of Rockford, IL; niece, Tiffany Torres (Mark) of Lake in the Hills, IL; nephew, Chad Fehlberg of Rockford, IL; nephew, Cory Fehlberg of Denver, CO; and many great nieces and nephews.

Celebration of his life will take place with a visitation in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111 on Thursday January 27, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:30pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Friday, January 28, 2022 in St. Stanislaus Church, 201 Buckbee, Rockford, IL 61104.
