Ronald F. Peterson

Ronald Francis Peterson, 84, of Naples, FL, went on to his rest on April 6, 2024.  He was born October 13, 1939 to Gunnar and Mabel (Johnson) Peterson.  He was a graduate of East High School, Rockford University and Illinois Institute of Technology.  Ron worked for 37 years at Sundstrand.

Ron was passionate about traveling, nature and photography.  He was an avid supporter of the Rockford and Naples Symphony Orchestras.  He also took pleasure spending time with Sundstrand colleagues in both Rockford and Florida where he relished being in the winter. 

He is survived by his life partner of 29 years, Ala Keller Gahlbeck.  Predeceased by his wife, Joan (Henderson) Peterson; brother, Robert Peterson; and nephew, Brian Peterson.

Funeral service will be at 11:00am with a visitation from 9:00am until the service on Saturday, April 20, 2024 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111.  Burial in New Milford Cemetery, New Milford, IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to Rockford Symphony Orchestra, rockfordsymphony.com.
