Romona “Mona” Schupbach Obituary

Romona “Mona” Lynn Dill Schupbach of Rockford, IL, went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2024, at the age of 62. Mona was born to James and Patricia Dill on January 11, 1962 in Rockford, IL.

Mona was an incredible, compassionate, loving, and selfless woman who loved Jesus with all her heart. She attended Jefferson High School in Rockford, where she met and later married her loving husband, Steven D. Schupbach. They were married on June 18, 1983 in Rockford, where they established their home and raised five beautiful children during their 40+ years of marriage. Steven and Mona had many adventures during their marriage, which included multiple Ragbri trips, skiing trips, snowmobiling, and motorcycle riding. Their favorite trips were vacations up north to Minocqua, WI where Steven would fish and Mona could read her books and cook.

Mona loved being a mother. She had her hands full with homeschooling her five children, along with all of the sporting events that she attended for her kids. Somehow she was able to get three kids to three different practices at three different parks at the same time. She loved being a mother. Supporting and encouraging her children to go after their dreams was her biggest passion.

Mona loved her life as a homemaker while perfecting her skills in cooking, baking, cricutting, gardening, canning, and scrapbooking. However, her role as a grandmother was her favorite role. She loved her grandchildren more than anything and was always willing to watch them at the drop of a hat. She enjoyed teaching them how to color, do puzzles, and baking them their favorite treats.

Mona was also a loving daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, friend, and neighbor. She was willing to do whatever her family and friends needed, whenever they needed it.

Mona is survived by her husband, Steven D. Schupbach; children, Jennifer (Luke) Berry, Dr. Katie (JP) Dixon, Joshua (Katie) Schupbach, Caleb (Allison) Schupbach; and her grandchildren: Mia, Abigail, Owen, Wade, Payton, Elliana, Wyatt and Lucy (to be born). Mona was preceded in death by her son, Jacob Schupbach; mother, Patricia Dill; brother, Vincent Dill; in-laws, Duane and Doris Schupbach; and grandson, Parker Berry.

Proverbs 31:29  -  “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”
