Robert W. Theroux

Robert William Theroux, 76, went to be with the Lord and Savior on Monday, March 21, 2022 after heart failure. He passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Born on December 16, 1945 in Worcester, MA, to Joseph and Violet Theroux. He was married over 46 years to his loving wife, Sharon Theroux, who passed away in 2015. They had 3 children, Scott, Laura (Rob), and Patti; 7 grandchildren, Joseph, Austin (Allyson), Cody (May), Lacey, Abi, Angelica, and Ali; and 3 great grandchildren, Sannia, Amelia, and April.

A veteran of the US Army from 1965-1968 serving during the Vietnam War. He was a small business owner in Rockford since 1981 known as Bob’s Remodeling until 2013. Lifetime member and chaplain of Rockford Charter Chapter Vietnam2Now Veterans Association since March 1993. Involved with Christmas for Vets when founded in 2003 and became director in 2009 until death. He also was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America. Graduated from Rockford School of Theology and earned his Master's degree in Theology. He ministered to veterans and civilians at several churches leading Bible studies throughout the community for more than 40 years. Other survivors include older sister, Lori Lawhorn; several nieces and nephews; and other family members.

Memorial and celebration of life will be held at 12:00 pm April 23, 2022 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with a visitation from 10:00 am until time of service. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family and will be divided and sent to Carpenter’s Place, Vets Drop-In Center, and Christmas for Vets.
