Rita R. Olson

Rita R. Olson, 70, of Machesney Park, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023.  She was born in Chicago, IL on July 15, 1952 to Burgess and Ristie Ridge.  Married Robert E. Olson on May 4, 2002 at Midway Village, Rockford.  Rita retired in 2013 from Boulder Creek Dental Office, Boulder Creek, CA, to move back to Illinois to be closer to family.  She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and loved spending time with her family, going out to eat and she was a big Cubs fan, watching every game.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Lisa David, Jon Baylander and Brian (Paola) Olson; grandchildren, Anthony, Jazmine, Blake, Mason, Elena and Zeke; brothers, Robert (Kathleen) Ridge, Richard (Susan) Ridge and John (Alison) Ridge; niece, Jennifer (Bob Young) Ridge; nephews, Sam, Jack and Alex.  Predeceased by her parents, grandson, Nick; brother, Burgess (Sandy) Ridge; nephew, Dan Ridge; and previous husband, John Carlson, who passed away March 3, 1999.

Service will be at 11:00 AM in St. Mark Lutheran Church, 675 N. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, with a visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery.
