Richard Arlin Hartman

Richard Arlin Hartman, 72, of Mount Carroll passed away October 15, 2021. Born February 4, 1949 in Freeport, the son of Marvin and Ellen (Lamoreux) Hartman. Richard loved to take long drives and travel around the states. Most of all, Richard enjoyed sharing his stories and spending time with his family.  For over 20 years Rick was the restaurant manager for Petro Truck Stop stores. He transferred to several states during the years because he would help open up new stores. Everywhere from Georgia to Phoenix. He retired and moved to the Gulf, mainly in the Biloxi area, where he sold cars for many years until recently. He had many good friends in Biloxi whom he enjoyed. His biggest achievement was surviving Hurricane Katrina when he lost everything he had. Brother Rod Hartman , rescued Rick from Katrina, when he came back to Illinois for 8 months, till he got back on his feet and moved to Biloxi. Rick moved around a lot because of his job, and made many lifelong friends.

Survivors include children, Daisha Hartman, Shannon (Philip) Case, Anthony Burkholder, Rachel (Timothy) Honquest; grandchildren, Justin, Samantha, Ella, Levi, Noah, Ashlyn, Morgan; great grandchildren, Sebastian, Adella, Khloe, Elijah; brother, Rod (Kari) Hartman; sister, Marva Lee Lodico; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents and granddaughters, Shannon and Kylie.

Celebration of life open house will be held from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 12066 Scenic Bluff Road, Savanna, IL 61074.
