Richard James Doyle

Richard James Doyle, 72, of Machesney Park, IL  succumbed to cancer at the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family and friends on April 16, 2021.

Richard is survived by his step-daughter, JoDell (Chuck) Timmerwilke and grandchildren, Jeff Tucker and Nate Stepanek. Richard is predeceased by his wife, Patricia Anne Doyle, his mother and father, Marie and Fred Doyle and his brother, George Doyle.  Richard was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to everyone.

Richard was very active up to the time of his recent illness and he had many hobbies including bowling, candle making, woodworking, cooking, kite flying and fishing. He was quite the bowler, was always in a league, and had a lifetime high game of 279.  He was also active in the Grange when he was not involved in his hobbies or helping friends with household chores or driving them to appointments.  Richard loved his grandsons and spent time with them either playing chess or relaying his favorite fishing stories. Richard’s favorite holiday over all others was the 4th of July, either watching or lighting fireworks. He was a friend to all and never had a bad word to say about anyone.

A Private memorial service will be held at a future date. Memorial donations may be sent to the Grange of Belvidere.
