Rebecca "Becky" Jean Holder

Rebecca “Becky” Jean Holder passed away at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, IL on January 4, 2023 at the age of 66. Becky was born in St. Louis, MO on January 29, 1956. She grew up in St. Louis, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1975. She met her husband while working for Chrysler in Fenton, MO. After marriage, she moved to Sullivan, MO to enjoy the scenic area of Woodland Lakes. Years later, Becky moved to Winfield, MO with her family. After retirement from Chrysler, she owned a local bakery with her sister, Ruth. Finally, she relocated to Machesney Park, IL where she resided until death.

Becky was dearly loved and will be missed as she made this place a wonderful world. She was a fierce friend and would give the shirt off her back. She was truly just one call away. Becky was always up for a long talk over a cup of coffee. It was during these times she liked to either remanence or concoct her next plan. She loved animals and had a great story of how she “adopted” a dog during a chance shopping trip. Becky often stopped to offer a rub behind the ear and a “good boy” to any animal. She is missed by her boys, Moose and Banner.

Becky is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Wallace Holder, Jr. Also surviving are her children, Steven Holder (Callie Gackowski), Matthew Holder (Shannon VanDyke), Greg Holder (Jen), Jerin Holder (Becky), Christa Willaredt (Alan); grandchildren, Evan Holder, Mia Holder, Hannah Holder, Oliver Toussaint, Katelyn Holder, Megan Holder, Karen Willaredt, Rachel Willaredt; siblings, Ruth Seise (Harry), Donald Biggerstaff (Carol), Darrell Biggerstaff, Larry Holder (Cathy), Sue Fetcher; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park. Private burial in Calvary Cemetery, Edwardsville, IL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given directly to Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary.
