Phyllis G. McKinney

Phyllis G. McKinney, 81, of Rockford, passed away Friday, October 2, 2020. She was born on March 7, 1939 in Reyno, Arkansas to Austin and Grace (Carter) Cavenar. Phyllis retired from Illinois Bell. She had a passion for cooking and gardening. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. 

Survivors include her children, Patrick (Rhonda) McKinney, Paul (Tiffany) McKinney and Melissa McKinney; grandchildren, Justin, Steven, Donny, Megan, Kaitlin, Connor and Shawn; great-grandchildren, Leo, Gianna, Charlie, Josie, Miriah and S.J.; sister, Sandy Smith and dear friends, Doyce McNabb. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Don McKinney; 2 sister and 1 brother. 

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, Illinois 61111. Masks are required.
