Peter “Pete” Raymoure, of Rockford, passed away on Saturday, May 28, at the age of 82, after a short illness that followed a long and happy life. He was born on November 16, 1939, to John and Janet Raymoure, in Detroit, MI. Pete married the love of his life, Mary, in Centerline, MI, in 1966. He was a dedicated and caring father to his children Lisa and Scott. Pete was compassionate and generous to anyone in need, and a supportive friend to everyone he knew.
Pete and his family moved to Rockford and became members of Holy Family Catholic Church in 1976. He was a lifelong motorhead and member of the Northern Illinois Corvette Club. He loved to play tennis, spend time outdoors, and travel with his family. Pete earned a B.S. in Industrial Management and Engineering from Wayne State University. He worked his way up from draftsman to retire as President of Cretex Pressure Pipe after 39 years of service. Upon retirement he and Mary wintered in Venice, FL, where he quickly became an avid sharks-tooth collector. He was also a proud veteran of two years of service in the US Army and will be laid to rest at Sarasota National Cemetery.
Pete will be loved and missed by Mary, Lisa (Noah), and Scott (Grace); his sister Linda; and his grandchildren Rose, Benjamin, and Dazzlyn.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 am, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 am, on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Holy Family Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd., in Rockford. In lieu of flowers, please be kind to one another.
