Peter F. Wolfley

Peter F. Wolfley, 77, of Rockford, IL, passed away February 4th, 2026, suddenly at his home. Peter was born on October 28th, 1948, in Rockford, IL, to his parents, Richard Wolfley and Carol Vetter. He graduated from Guilford High School and later earned a degree in economics from the University of Illinois.

Peter worked as a real estate appraiser for his whole career. He started as self-employed, but worked for a local assessor's office in his later years. In his free time, he enjoyed photography, reading, and walking at local forest preserves. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. 

Peter is survived by his children, Katie (Tom) Kelly and Anne Wolfley; grandchildren, Maura and Luke Kelly; brother, David (Gena) Wolfley. Preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Carol Vetter Wolfley, and his stepmother, Jo Ann Wolfley.

A celebration of life will be held on June 19th, 2026, at Sam’s Restaurant, 6075 E. Riverside Blvd, Rockford, IL, 61114, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
