Penny Darlene Ratzlaff

Penny Darlene Ratzlaff, 61, of Rockford passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2022. Penny was born June 16, 1960 in Rockford, the daughter of Bobby Dale and Carol Virginia (Jones) Gould. Penny was a kind loving wife, sister, aunt and niece. She married Steven M. Ratzlaff on November 11, 1989 in Rockford. Penny has a compassionate soul that would help anyone in need.

She was always known for being a hard worker, Penny worked for many years at Blue Cross Blue Shield and Rockford Health Systems. She went on to become a Director at Experity. Penny enjoyed her work. Penny loved her nieces and nephews with all of her heart. She also enjoyed playing the slot machines and visiting the casinos in Dubuque, IA, “Cousins Club” and Bloody Mary’s. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends. Penny was also member of the White Eagle’s Club and the Harmony Club where she served on the board for many years.

Survivors include husband, Steven Ratzlaff; sisters, Diana (Larry) Kite, Jennifer (Hector) Gould Rodriguez; nephews, Kyle (Ashley) Kite, Kallob Kite, Gregory Gould, Samuel Rodriguez; great niece, Lluvia; fur baby, Gunner; and many loving family and friends. Predeceased by parents.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, May 21, 2022 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel with a visitation from 10:00 AM until time of service. Burial in Willwood Burial Park, Rockford.
